Hakurei - salad turnip
Ideal temp: 32℉
We exclusively grow 'salad turnips'--these are not meant for long term storage, and are sweeter and crisper, like a mix between a turnip and a radish. They can be eaten raw or cooked, and are not as starchy as larger, storage turnips. Remove greens and place in a separate, sealed plastic bag for later use. The greens are delicious--my favorite cooking green! Store turnips in a sealed plastic bag in your fridge's crisper. Without plastic, the fridge will dehydrate the roots and make them soft. The condensation trapped in the plastic bag prevents this. Storage life: 21-40 days.
