We thank you all so much for diverting your dollars into local, organic vegetable production—this is a huge step towards regenerating our food system. However, most of us enjoy our veggies in addition to other foods. The more we prioritize sourcing locally and sustainably, the more resilient our food economy will be.
Add-Ons for 2017
NORTH STAR ORCHARD: Fruit Share
North Star Orchard is located in Cochranville, PA and specializes in growing unique and heritage varieties of tree fruits. Selections include several hundred varieties of apples and dozens of varieties of peaches, nectarines, plums, pears, grapes, and Asian pears. The Fruit Share is a very popular option for folks who are looking for more than mediocre, imported grocery store fruit. We received a share last year and were blown away by the quality and flavors--nothing like the fruit you buy at the store. It's difficult to find fruit on the East Coast grown organically, because of the insects, humidity, and diseases during the summer months. North Star prioritizes the health of the environment and the community they're feeding. To learn more about their practices, read here.
- $260; 12 weeks of fresh fruit starting in August. Payment options available. A share contains a nice amount of fruit each week for two fruit-loving adults, who each eat about 1 or 2 pieces of fruit per day, or for a small family.
*We will not be delivering fruit shares to Swarthmore or Eagleview Farmers' Market CSA members, since fruit vendor attend the markets.

"Bread is fundamental. The bread we eat everyday should be delicious and full of vitality. It should be substantial enough to nourish us, but not so heavy as to weigh us down. It should not be so full of fancy ingredients that we easily tire of it or that it becomes overly expensive. Good bread, properly prepared has been nourishing us for thousands of years. This is the bread we strive to bake.
Our bread begins with the leaven (or starter), which we use in place of commercial yeast. We make the leaven by naturally fermenting wheat or rye. The leaven goes into the dough which then gets a slow, cool rise, allowing full development of flavor and nutrition...When the dough is ready, it cooks hot and fast from the radiant heat of the oven’s bricks. The result is beautiful, rustic bread, crusty and chewy, flavorful and long-keeping--nothing like conventional bread."
- $150; One 24 oz. loaf/week for 24 weeks (list of available breads below). You save $1 per loaf compared to retail price; Baked fresh, and delivered weekly alongside your veggies (and fruit)!
- $290; Two 24 oz. loaves/week for 24 weeks. Will receive two of the same variety each week. You save $1.20 per loaf compared to retail price.
